Microsoft has released cumulative update KB5083632 for Windows 11, version 25H2 for Insiders on the Dev Channel – Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26300.8170). The update brings changes to storage, networking, Windows Security, and the Feedback Hub, as well as improving performance when working with large volumes.
- Increased FAT32 volume limit. When formatting via the command line, the FAT32 volume size limit has increased from 32 GB to 2 TB.
- Memory management improvements. Performance has been improved when viewing information about large volumes in: Settings > System > Storage > Advanced storage settings > Disks & volumes. Also, the Settings > System > Storage page no longer triggers a UAC prompt immediately upon opening – the prompt now appears only when you navigate to view temporary files.
- Traffic data fix. Fixed an issue where unrealistically large traffic values could be displayed in Settings > Network & internet > Data usage in recent Insider builds.
- Windows Security improvements. Microsoft has started rolling out improvements in Windows Security > Device security > Secure Boot. Color indicators (green, yellow, red) are now displayed, along with additional information about Secure Boot status and certificates. This is related to the renewal of Secure Boot certificates on consumer devices and some enterprise PCs – users can now check their status directly in the interface. The feature is disabled by default on devices managed by IT administrators and servers.
- Feedback Hub update. An updated version of the Feedback Hub app (version 2.2604.101.0) is being rolled out for Dev and Canary channels. The update includes refinements based on user feedback: improved default window size and added ability to remember size between sessions; added support for the mouse back button for navigation; fixed an issue where too few community feedback items were displayed; fixed the display of Upvote buttons for users with Chinese display language; and other stability and usability improvements.
Installation via Windows Update: go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates. A reboot is required to complete the installation.
Many features in the Dev channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology. Initially, only some participants receive them, then the rollout expands based on feedback analysis and feature evaluation. Dev channel participants who want to be the first to receive gradually rolled-out features can turn on the Get the latest updates as soon as they are available toggle in Settings > Windows Update. Over time, feature rollout will cover all participants who have the toggle turned on. If the toggle remains off, new features will arrive gradually, as they become ready.
