Microsoft has released cumulative update KB5095027 (build 26300.8687) for Windows 11 version 25H2 for insiders on the Experimental channel. The Experimental channel includes the latest preview builds of Windows 11 with new features. Builds may have low stability and some issues, but they are intended for users who want to try out new operating system features.
- Unified update mechanism in Windows Update. A new unified update mechanism is being introduced, reducing the number of reboots per month. Driver, .NET, and firmware updates are now aligned with the monthly quality update, resulting in only one monthly reboot required.
- Opening a folder in a new tab with the middle mouse button in File Explorer. Now supported in the address bar and on the home page, making tab navigation more consistent and efficient.
- Improved Narrator announcements in File Explorer. Announcements for the conflict resolution dialog when moving and copying files have been improved.
- File Explorer response to increased text scale. Additional refinements have been made to how File Explorer responds to increased text scale.
- App search has become more tolerant of errors. It better handles typos, missing and extra letters, as well as partial words in app names. For example, searching for utlook still finds Outlook.
- Improved ranking of settings search results. More relevant settings are displayed higher in the results.
- Improved taskbar loading reliability. Improved loading reliability of the taskbar area with the system tray.
- Updated parental control information presentation during Windows setup. Improved the presentation of parental control information and its availability during Windows setup, so families can more easily understand the available protection tools and make informed decisions from the start.
- The emoji panel now uses GIPHY. The emoji panel (Win + period) is switching to GIPHY as the GIF provider after Tenor support ended, making browsing and sharing GIFs smoother.
- Remote recovery management plug-in. A new module has been added, expanding WinRE management capabilities for MDM providers.
Known issues in previous builds fixed in this update:
- Fixed an issue where tooltips could unexpectedly appear on top of the Start menu icon on the Taskbar when using it in an alternative position, and also fixed a number of other minor visual glitches when using the Taskbar with small icons.
- Fixed an issue where in recent insider builds the mouse pointer could move in the wrong direction on secondary monitors rotated to portrait orientation.
- Fixed an issue where some insiders had no sound after installing the latest builds. Fixed an issue affecting the reliability of the Settings > Apps > Installed apps section.
- Fixed hangs that occurred in the previous build when working with search, Notepad, and in a number of other scenarios. Fixed the display of the Create Task window from Task Manager when using dark theme — it now also appears in dark theme.
To install the update, go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates. A computer restart is required to complete the installation. You can also download update KB5095027 and install it manually.
