KB5124197

Microsoft has released cumulative update KB5124197 (Build 26220.9587) for Windows 11, version 25H2, for Insiders in the Beta Channel. KB5124197 updates text support to the Unicode 17.0 standard, speeds up the Settings home page, and adds a new way to start system recovery from the cloud. The changes are rolling out to Insiders gradually, so not everyone will get them at the same time.

• Unicode. Text rendering support in Windows has been updated to the Unicode 17.0 standard. The system now correctly displays and lays out new characters and writing systems. Unicode 17.0 adds 4,803 characters, including four new scripts: Beria Erfe, Sidetic, Tai Yo, and Tolong Siki.
• Settings. The Settings home page opens faster: load time has been reduced in a number of cases.
• Recovery. A new entry point for Cloud rebuild, a system reinstall that downloads the image from the cloud, has appeared under Settings > System > Recovery. Previously it could only be started from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). The change is rolling out in phases.

To install update KB5124197 through Windows Update, go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates. A restart will be required to finish the installation.
