Microsoft released cumulative update KB5124008 for Windows 11 version 26H2 (2026 Update) as part of Patch Tuesday for September 2026. The update brings changes to the Start menu and taskbar, improved integration of Microsoft Store apps along with support for the WinUI 3 interface, support for the ML-KEM algorithm in TLS connection encryption, fixes for network connectivity and VPN issues, as well as increased stability of Settings and optimization of the system kernel. In addition, Microsoft warned about the upcoming end of support for the WMIC utility.

Find and Change Settings

Secure Boot Certificates Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates Open Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. If new Secure Boot certificates are available, they will be offered as an optional update. Select the certificate update and click Download & install. Restart the device when prompted to apply the new certificates.
Mouse Cursor Settings Settings > Accessibility > Mouse pointer and touch Open Settings > Accessibility > Mouse pointer and touch. Choose the desired pointer style and color. The selected options now apply correctly. To restore defaults, select the default pointer style and white color.
Desktop Background and Personalization Settings > Personalization > Background Open Settings > Personalization > Background. Select your preferred wallpaper, color, or slideshow. The background should now load correctly instead of showing a black screen. To change the theme, go to Settings > Personalization > Themes and select another theme.
Microsoft Teams and Outlook on ARM64 Settings > Apps > Installed apps Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Locate Microsoft Teams or Microsoft Outlook. If the app closes unexpectedly, check for updates in the Microsoft Store or install the latest version from the official website. Restart the app after updating.
Morocco Time Zone Settings > Time & language > Date & time Open Settings > Time & language > Date & time. If the time zone is set to Morocco, it will automatically reflect the permanent UTC+00:00 offset. To manually verify, select the time zone dropdown and ensure "(UTC+00:00) Casablanca" is chosen. Toggle "Set time zone automatically" on if needed.
Remote Desktop Audio Redirection Settings > System > Remote Desktop Open Settings > System > Remote Desktop. Ensure Remote Desktop is enabled. In the Remote Desktop Connection client, go to Local Resources > Remote audio and select "Play on this computer". Reconnect the session for audio redirection to work correctly.
OMA-DM Client Diagnostic Logging Settings > Accounts > Access work or school Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school. Select your enrolled account and click "Info". To view logs, open Event Viewer and navigate to Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider. Logs now include additional connection details.
