Microsoft has released cumulative update KB5122878 for Windows 10 version 22H2 as part of the September 2026 Patch Tuesday. This update is intended for devices enrolled in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program and contains a number of improvements aimed at enhancing system stability and compatibility, as well as fixes for previously identified issues.
- Date and time. Updated Morocco time zone settings due to the country's transition to permanent UTC+00:00 time starting September 20, 2026.
- OMA DM protocol. Improved logging for the OMA DM Client component (omadmclient.exe). More debug information is now saved when connecting to the server.
- Windows Code Integrity policies. Improved application compatibility when changing the Windows certificate authority. Microsoft Windows Production PCA 2026 RSA2048-SHA256 is now recognized as equivalent to PCA 2011.
- Remote Desktop. Fixed an audio redirection issue where sound from a remote session might not play on the local computer in certain configurations.
- BitLocker Group Policies. Fixed a known issue where devices with a non-recommended BitLocker group policy configuration could prompt for a recovery key.
Cumulative update KB5122878 is installed automatically through Windows Update. To check for the update, go to Settings, then Update & Security, and click Check for updates. A computer restart will be required after installation is complete. The build number for Windows 10 version 22H2 will change to 19045.7725.
